We are now in the period of Gemini. In Gemini, when the fast moving planets of Mercury rules, you can expect a person born in this period to be active and impatient. His biggest problem will be to be still or calm his hyper active mind. He will suffer from frequent bouts of insomnia.

Instead of resorting to drugs, alcohol or other artificial means of inducing sleep, try taking a warm bath scented by soothing bath salts.

When preparing for bed, do not take tea or coffee but prepare yourself a natural infusion of the herbs listed below that can be available in your country.

Mint leaves-Use whole
Citronella or lemon grass-crushed Bulbs
Camomile-Leaves + Flower
Catnip-Leaves + Flower
Valerian-Root or Extract of Root
Bay leave-Leaves

Pouring boiling water into a cup or pot containing any of the above herbs to make an infusion. Steep in the water for 10 – 15 minutes. Add sugar as sugar promotes a feeling of well being. Drink warm.

Of all the above 5 herbs, valerian is the only one that can become addictive as the body can build up a tolerance to it.

Another weakness of those born in Gemini is the Colon. For this reason, foods that can aid in colonic cleansing is very essential. The ideal diet is high fibre, low fat. This means a lot of fruits, vegetables and cereals.

A simple and humble fruit that is very easily obtainable all over the world is the Banana. There are hundreds of varieties of bananas available around the world and no matter the variety, the banana is good for you if you wish to regulate your colonic functions. They are rich in pectin and makes a natural laxative.
Here are a few recipes that can make the banana a more exciting dish, although eating it fresh is the best. But if they are over-ripe, you can cook them.

  • Grilled Bananas

    If you wish to keep your ripe bananas a litter longer. You may roast or grill them, then refrigerate them.

  • Method

  1. Gently squash the ripe banana in the skin with the palm of your hand or a broad knife.
  2. Peel and cut them as required
  3. Grill them any way convenient to you or roast them in a skillet over a medium flame.
  4. When the starch in the banana breaks down to sugar and the sugar caramelises, it is done. This makes an excellent snack for in between meals. Ripened bananas can be further preserved for 2 –3 weeks in this way.

Banana with
Coconut Cream

1-3 Ripe bananas

1-5 Tablespoons of cream of coconut in a can or fresh coconut cream from matured coconuts.


  1. Cut and steam the bananas
  2. Remove the bananas from the flame when it has softened.
  3. Add a pinch of salt to the cream of coconut
  4. Pour the cream of coconut over the bananas and serve warm or cold as preferred.

This is a simple yet very exotic dessert

Instead of using cream of coconut another variance of this recipe is to coat the steamed banana with roasted nuts or seeds like peanut or sesame seeds and sprinkle some grated coconut over it.

Whenever possible, always look for a natural way to restore your body’s health. So eat right and you will depend less on drugs and chemical aids.
